A Vacation Space

There’s something that comes over me when we head out for a vacation.  Either by car or plane, there is that moment where my mind lets go.  I can feel my energy change into one of stress to rejuvenation.   I don’t always treat myself to this indulgence but have learned through meditation that this same type of shift in energy can happen every day if we “Allow” it.  You see, on vacation you allow even look forward to this release of responsibility. The attitude of relaxation is not only encouraged, it’s expected.  You simply MUST have a good time, right?   But, in real life, we tend to block this same type of attitude because we believe that peace only lives in certain circumstances.   When I started to stop the fear and lean into breathing, listening, and relaxing even if it’s just for a few moments each day, that is when my life changed.  It was not that the bills went away or the kids stopped fighting.  It was in the way that I handled my mind accepting the information and knowing that the circumstance would change usually pretty quickly if it is not fed by more fear.

I was given the following this morning from my Angels and Sprit Guides:

“It is a quiet room that you seek away from noise and electrical devices.  Sit with us for a moment.  Did you ever go on vacation and sit on a beach or walk on a path with trees and sounds of small animals rustling in the leaves?  You may think, “I’m peaceful because of vacation”.  But you are mistaken.  You are peaceful because you have pulled your body and brain into an environment that allows restoration.  You can do this every day if you seek it.  Whether it is outside your back door or only in your mind, the joyful vacation from the world is one or two deep breaths and quiet reflection away.

Can you give yourself two or three minutes today to rest your mind?  In your mind, go to that place where you are most peaceful and joyful and rest there for a few moments.
