“I’m Scared”

A well-dressed woman walked into a café for lunch.  She was busy on her phone when the waitress came to take her order.   She simply pointed out on the menu what she wanted, gave a half smile, and continued her conversation.  The waitress, feeling completely dismissed with the encounter, rolled her eyes and walked away.  Both became angry at the behavior of the other.  The waitress felt that this snooty woman would never understand her hardships and the customer felt that the waitress would never understand the burdens of her difficult job which was ongoing even during lunch.  But, they had so much in common.  Each had three children, a sick husband, and a difficult job with seemingly no end in sight.  However, without them knowing, they had each been sent to each other.  Unfortunately, fear of the other created a boundary and their opportunity was lost.  What if the customer had gotten off of the phone and demanded that she at least had the right to have lunch and have soul to soul communication.  What if the waitress had simply given a smile and a knowing nod and wink to the customer to let her know, that she understood.  Look beyond what the world wants you to do and create soul connections even if the person receiving them does not respond accordingly.

Fear was never meant to be the only emotion just a precautionary essence to be incorporated into daily life.  But it seems that fear has become a paralyzing force for the current students in Earth School.  The term “fearless” may only now apply to a two-year-old and under since they have not been indoctrinated into the world of anxiety which is simply another word for fear.  We do not speak of fear of touching a fire or fearing crossing a street with heavy traffic.  No, we speak instead of the fear of helping someone just in case they may take advantage of you later.  We speak of deciding not to go to an important event because it is raining and may get worse, so we stay inside, comfortable, but without the magnificence of being with other souls for enlightenment.  Fear, you see, is necessary in some cases but has taken over as the primary emotion when you and I know that the only emotion that matters is Love. 

Can you throw away fear and give a smile to an underserving person today?
